Welcome...

Dalley Smith Architecture is a RIBA Chartered Practice established in 1991 by Stephen Dalley Smith. We work within Bath and through the Wiltshire and Somerset countryside.

Projects include individual houses for private clients, work with historic and listed buildings, rural conversions, city centre refurbishments and projects for private developers.

Town and Country...

We have worked on properties including barns, manor houses, cottages and even a thatched extension. We have carried out conversions and refurbishments to barns and other rural buildings to create individual houses, holiday lets for farm businesses, home work units and agricultural buildings.

Specific, tailored solutions...

We can take a project from inception through negotiations with the Planning Authorities and then administer building contracts on site for our clients if appropriate. During the past twenty years we have developed a good rapport with local Planning and Conservation Offices. Every project is unique; no two buildings require the same answers and individual client's needs will have solutions tailored to specific requirements of the project.

Sustainable, award wining architecture...

Sustainability is important, the planet's resources are finite and the mitigation of rising energy costs is crucial to most clients. We employ modern ecological systems where appropriate but these must suit the individual building.

Dalley Smith Architecture has gained awards over the years for rural housing design (RIBA Regional Award) and Design and Construction Excellence from Bath Council. Stephen is a member of the Bath Preservation Trust Planning Advisory Committee.
